I fight for the user!

It has been a long time since I last posted. I have joyously completed my degree and walked with springing and cheerful step into the world of the library professional. With optimism and cheerfulness I began again in the working world. However, my mental up-ness fled in the face of "antiquated shibboleths" and inflexible attitudes. I have felt boxed in by my circumstances. Recently, though, I have taken this as an opportunity to grow some patience. This is not the time to lose faith in libraries and their mission. Now is the time to stay strong and weather the storm of obsolescence. Our time will come and we will be prepared and libraries will change and survive. (I know: it looks like a run on sentence. Work with me here!)
What has effected this change in attitude? What has prompted me to perk up? I saw this video by Eli Neiburger: a presentation delivered to the VALA 2012 Conference in Australia. I am confident that by the time I am in a position to be a leader and innovator the world will be ready for the new library:) YAY! So, I Fight For the User, too!
